Safely Arrived!

I am officially a resident of Connecticut now! Wow... everything is so different here! There are no mountains, just hills...WITHOUT SNOW YAY!... trees EVERYWHERE, and I don't think there is such thing as a small house in this entire state!

I landed in Hartford, CT at 11:55 am Eastern time, which is two hours different from Utah, and met Al. He is the father, and such a fun guy to be around. I haven't figured out how old they are, but he looks like he is 32 at most! We drove home to Watertown, CT (halfway between Hartford and Danbury), and I finally met Nancy. She is such a sweet and loving mother. She reminds me a lot of my own mother, which makes me feel even more at home! There are three kids. Jordyn, who is almost 5, Mason, who is 3.5, and Austin, who is 9 weeks old (and the best baby I have ever seen. he doesn't cry at all!). They are all so much fun, and I love them already! I can already tell that I am going to be having the time of my life with them!

Their house is BIG! I wish I could post photos, but I left my USB cord that connects my camera to the computer at home... :( bummer. So everyone will have to wait! :) We went to dinner tonight at this GREAT Japanese restaraunt, and I tried many new things! It is called Hitachi, and they make your food on a grill right in front of you! Don't worry, it was only $30 a plate...plus the extra sushi and extra appetizers that we ordered.... HOLY COW it was good, though! I tried scallops, lobster tail, california rolls, tuna sushi, and tempura, and the only thing I disliked was the tuna sushi. I was pretty surprised, because I am a picky eater...

So far I am loving life, and am so excited. I did get pretty nervous for awhile, but everything has turned out better than I could have hoped for! I will keep you updated. Tomorrow, they are going to try and show me around town.... We will see how that goes! :)

Addiction

So I have to admit that I am a total TV series JUNKIE!!! I love watching my usual tv shows every night. Here is a schedule of my week!:

Daily: I love watching the Ellen Degeneres Show. She is so hilarious, plus she loves to give things away ALL THE TIME! Similar to Oprah, but I think Ellen has more "everyday life" people on her show. You just might see your 5-year-old neighbor girl on because she can hula hoop! I think I live vicariously through Ellen! I pretend that she is giving all of the great gifts to me!

Monday: My mom has recently gotten me addicted to Dancing With The Stars! I have always loved watching dancing, but this show is seriously addicting. At first, I laughed at my mother as she used every phone in her reach to get the 6 votes per phone line in for her favorite dancers, but I now find myself doing the same thing!!! AHHH... thanks mom! :)

Tuesday= Here comes the results show for Dancing... As if two hours on Monday night wasn't enough, I just can't possibly miss the extra hour impatiently waiting to see who is getting voted off this week.

After that, another recent addiction comes on... I am almost ashamed to admit I have been roped into the American Idol haze that has swept the country! I patiently wait until my two favorites get to perform, David Cook and David Archuleta! I get chills every time!

Wednesday= Only thing that comes on Wednesdays is the results show for American Idol. But I still devote my Wednesday evenings to that one little show....

Thursday= OH MY GOSH... one of the best shows ever created. Lost is on every Thursday night. However, last week was the last episode until the end of April, due to the writers' stike. GRRRRR... but hopefully the rest of the season will meet the high expectiations that I have set for my favorite show. April 24th is the return of this show, and you better bet your bottom dollar I will not miss a beat! P.S. Juicy Lost gossip... I just found out that Kate and Charlie have been dating in real life for about 3 years now! Wow that's just crazy to me.....

Friday= Usually nothing comes on Friday nights, which is great, because that's the night on the town! :)

Saturday= Also a night where not much is on television. Unless you can catch a good movie on... which is rarely the case!

Sunday= My favorite night of television... First comes Extreme Home Makeover, which in and of itself is not my favorite thing to watch. But it gets me ready for the rest of the night's shows.... and once in awhile brings a little tear to my eye!

Next comes Oprah's Big Give! Anyone who loves watching things being given away should start watching this show STAT! I love watching how these people can come together and give huge amounts of money away to such great causes... and people that they don't even KNOW!!! My favorite "give" would have to be last week, when Stephen went door to door in a less wealthy neighborhood and gave away great electronic gifts, such as big screen tvs, computers, ipods to children, microwaves, etc. I couldn't even imagine someone showing up at my door and just handing such a great gift to me for no apparent reason! Must Watch!

Last but not least comes Here Come the Newlyweds. This show is so hilarious. I love watching the young couples try and guess each other's sizes in clothes, favorite movie stars, and and body parts that they would change about themselves. Plus the couple who knows the most gets a big pot of cash! Let's go Holmes'!

MOVING!

So I am currently in Las Vegas, enjoying time with John before Friday rolls around! I am getting pretty nervous, but so excited at the same time! I fly out on Friday night at 11:55 pm, and arrive in Hartford, CT at 11:55 am on Saturday. I spoke with Nancy (my "mom") this morning, and she said that they are getting so excited for me to arrive! They are so great! I can't wait to finally meet them in person! I am going to try to be good at this whole blog thing, since I just started. But hopefully it will help keep in touch with the family and friends back home a little better! Thank heavens for the internet! :) I will miss everyone, especially my family! MUAH! Love you mom and dad! I will let you know when I arrive safely and finally meet my new family! YAY!
